The Epicentre offers specialized services to our community, including special education for children with developmental disabilities and physical therapy for people of all ages and abilities.

Respite

We provide respite-services (short-term boarding) for children where they stay on site from Monday to Friday and then return on Monday. This arrangement provides a perfect balance between day attendance and full boarding. It is designed to enable parents to enjoy some relief from the pressures of day to day home based caregiving. At the same me children are allowed to be with their parents, siblings and friends over the weekend while staff can also spend a well-deserved break with their families.

Physiotherapy

The school has a in-house physiotherapist who provides individualised therapy sessions. We plan to expand our services into the community to increase access and help sustain the unit.

Music Therapy

Children with special needs enjoy music. Music therapy helps in communication, social interaction, improves wellbeing and confidence. It decreases negative behaviour such as aggression and tantrums. We have a select range of musical instruments: keyboard, xylophone, guitar, drums, tambourines to help stimulate various parts of the brain. We also aim to introduce more performance oriented artistic activities to develop creative skills and nurture talent.

 Occupational Therapy

We have Occupational Therapy interns visiting the school each year. The school does not currently have a full time therapist.

Sports Therapy

We have a sports court where children play mainly football, obstacles, tyre racing etc. We are exploring options for supervised hydrotherapy as an essential component of our healthy living offer. 

Assessment Centre

We are in the process of setting up an assessment centre, a one stop shop where a multi-disciplinary team will assess your child's needs.
